Creamy Basil Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 package pasta of choice

  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked (either overnight or quick-boil method)

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Boil a pot of water and cook pasta of choice according to instructions

  2. In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine all sauce ingredients (soaked cashews, water, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, basil leaves, salt & pepper)

  3. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until smooth & creamy

  4. Toss sauce with pasta while still warm & sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  5. Enjoy!
