Healthier Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Brownies

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cacao powder
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ cup almond butter + ¼ cup for swirl on top
  • ½ cup coconut sugar or sugar of choice
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 eggs room temperature (or two flax eggs for vegan*)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven 350F.
  2. Mix your cacao, almond flour, baking soda, and salt together
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ½ cup almond butter, coconut sugar, maple syrup, coconut oil, & eggs (or flax eggs) together.
  4. Slowly add your dry ingredients to wet while mixing. Lastly, mix in your chocolate chips and set aside. 
  5. Spray an 8x8 baking pan with oil, pour in batter. Take remanding almond butter and maker swirls on top.
  6. Bake 30 minutes, check with a toothpick or fork, if it comes out clean it is done, if not, put in for another 5-10 mines.
  7. Let cool on the countertop for 10 minutes before slicing in, enjoy!
