Pat the Spatula loves baking in the Fall and is so excited Trader Joe's Puff Pastry is back for the season! Taking a break from all things pumpkin, this apple tart dessert is perfection and encompasses all the flavors of Fall! Don't forget to top with ice cream which is the best part! Pat the Spatula hopes you enjoy!
Peel and slice the apples, then toss in a bowl with 1 tbsp melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt. Mix well
Roll out thawed puff pastry sheet into a rectangle over a large piece of parchment paper and place on a baking sheet
Create a 1" border around the rectangle using a butter knife. You want to score the pastry dough without going through the dough completely. This border will help the apple juices stay in the center of the pastry
Arrange apple slices within the border. Melt 1 tbsp of butter and pour it over the apples. Rub the additional 1/2 tbsp melted butter over the 1" border so that it browns evenly
Bake for 32 minutes
Remove baking sheet from the oven and add fig jam to a small bowl and heat it slightly so that it is easy to spread
Using a pastry brush, gently spread the jam over the apples to give it a nice shine
