Thandai is a traditional Indian drink and is especially enjoyed during Holi celebrations in India, although it is also enjoyed in warm weather. It is made with dried nuts, seeds, fragrant spices, and saffron. Pat the Spatula wishes you a Happy Holi for those who celebrate!
- 10 cashews
- 16 pistachios
- 1½ teaspoons poppy seeds
- 1½ teaspoons fennel seeds
- 3 teaspoons melon seeds
- 3 cardamoms
- ¾ teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 pinch saffron
- 1½ teaspoons dried rose petals
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup milk
Grind together the nut mix ingredients in a coffee grinder until it is a smooth powder
Add 2 tablespoons of the ground nut mixture into a cup
Pour in 1 cup of milk. Stir together.
Sprinkle with dried rose petals
